On January 9, 2010, in Downtown Decatur Georgia, 11 alumni members of Iota Phi Theta gathered to discuss the idea of chartering an Alumni chapter that would serve as a home to the many brothers residing in the county. These men had a desire to contribute to their community in the name of their beloved fraternity. Shortly after this meeting they set a plan in motion to meet the requirements of the Fraternity's Grand Council in order to be recognized as a chapter.
On October 1, 2010, the Dekalb Alumni Interest Group became known as the Beta Psi Omega Chapter of IOTA PHI THETA Fraternity Inc. The chartering members of Beta Psi Omega are; Brother Derico D. Dabney, Brother Kevin Lucas, Brother Clive W. Neish, Brother Daryle L. Swatzie, Brother Antron Rose, Brother Joseph Little, Brother Larry Johnson, Brother Damon McMillon, Brother Justin Murray, Brother Carmelo Antonio Garrido, & Brother Milton Irving.
Beta Psi Omega is comprised of professional men with a focus on strengthening the bonds among men, their families, and their communities; while enriching the social, political, and economic conditions of the disadvantaged.
